The Yoast SEO plugin is currently the most popular search engine optimization plugin for WordPress. Yoast includes both basic and advanced SEO setting options. There is both a free and paid version of the plugin. The Yoast plugin does an excellent job of providing the basic SEO features (Titles, Meta Descriptions, Focus Keywords, etc.) that all websites need. While Yoast includes more features than other SEO plugins, it does require more setting up to take advantage of these advanced features.

Installation and setup of the plugin has been streamlined and simplified. There are additional settings you may want to experiment with for optimal performance.

Conclusion and Recommendation:
I now use the Yoast SEO plugins on all of the new WordPress websites that I create. Installing and setting up the plugin is easier than it used to be. Yoast does a good job in optimizing your on-page SEO items. However, you’ll still need to address your off-page SEO items (backlinks, etc.) for better search engine rankings.
